Try Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. It was written in the 19th century and takes place in the Middle Ages.

Or you could try A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. I recently listened to the Gutenberg audio edition of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and absolutely loved it. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to finally tackle that book.

"The Mists of Avalon" is definately worth downloading over purchasing, but I didn't find it very exciting due to its length and my relative lack of interest. I would however reccomend "The Once and Future King", as though it is not a light read in any manner, it is much more enjoyable than my previous utterance.
