The fundamentals of a jump shot tells you to put the ball over your head when you shoot... well what do you do if you are not strong enough? Where is your set point in the air...? Is it in front of your face or to the side of your head by your ear? Were is a good set point and how low should you put the ball when you are in the air shooting a jump shot if you are not strong enough to put it over your head?

No matter what, a key point is to have your knees bent and shoot the ball straight.

I respectfully disagree with most of the things you call fundamental to shooting. The starting point is even with the bottom edge of your ribs on your shooting side, not up higher and not in the middle of your body or face. You can keep from getting blocked and gain power simply by lifting smoothly in one motion and quickly to your release point, which is higher than your head. That, along with power from your legs, are the best power sources. In other words, this is what allows you to do the two things that all shooters must do, shoot straight and judge distance.

Just do whatever you can do to get the ball in the basket. Everyone has there own way of shooting. If you have to shoot it a little weird you will be known for that. Do what ever comes natural. Hopefully the balls will go in.
