I would vote for Romney and his personal beliefs have no bearing on my wanting him to support him. I am a Methodist and have dated Mormon girls. Though it didnt' work out due to faith issues, Mormon people are good people. Therefore, I think Mitt Romney would make an excellent president, judging on his politics alone.

No way! Mormonism is a cult. And before you say, I don't know anything about Mormons; let me tell you that I have several second cousins who are Mormons. And from what I've learned from them, is that Mormons are no different than the followers of Jim Jones or the Moonies. People often compare Romney's Mormonism to JFK's Catholicism but it is a weak comparison! Popes are elected whereas the leader of the Mormons is usually passed down through familial lines. Catholicism and Protestantism have the same Judeo-Christian basis. Mormonism is based sayings of the angel Moroni who inspired Joseph Smith to write the book of latter day saints. And when the Catholic and Protestants churches change/revise their doctrine, they base those revision in Scripture or precedence whereas Mormonism changes with the wind. So it would be very dangerous to elect such a person, unless you want to be a cult follower.

funny how Mormons were a rung above Catholics on the hate list of the right wing just 30 years ago, and now, with numbers dwindling, the fundie wackos have decided that the Mormon cult isn't that bad, and now we have this guy running for president. He hasn't got a chance in hell, so I ain't to worried about it, and yes, I do vote in regards to religion - if someone is TOO religious, they will NEVER get my vote

Go fish.

He's flip-flopped on both abortion and gay marriage. How can we trust him?

So far as being a Mormon, I've never met a Mormon I didn't like, so, actually, everything else aside, he'd get browny points for BEING a Mormon, in my mind.

Hell no. We Bostonians just got rid of him. Here he let all his Lt Governor do all the work. Being Mormon has nothing to do with it. I guess if his vice president was any good, seeing that his vice would be doing all the work. He'd just show up for photo ops.

I'm thinking we can put the Know-nothing Governor would make a good president theory to bed after our last experiment.

He did a nice job organizing the Olympics, but one term as Governor doesn't make him Presidential material in my book. He'll fade into obscurity by the end of the year.

NO.

He will never be elected, based on his religion. It doesn't matter how good of a leader he is.
