For some reason, whenever the college basketball tournament comes around it makes me wonder just how great it would be if Division I Football were able to have a playoff. Obviously it wouldn't be on the same scale, but it would be incredible. The major bowls could still have their yearly rotation in who hosts the semi-finals and final games. You could do a 16 team playoff, let a committee sit down and decide who gets in. It adds 4 games to the season, but it's no different then the NFL or Division I-A, I-AA.
And I'm well aware that Division I is no where near getting rid of the BCS, I'm just entertaining the thought.
So do you like the BCS or would rather have a playoff system? And why?

My team is Louisville. And I'm not mad cause they're not good everytime, actually I'm glad when they do well anytime. They could use the regular season to determine seeding, so the regular season would still matter. But only a playoff can give you an outright national champion without the risk of having several teams be up for it. You either play your way to the championship or you're done.

And Louisville has had excellent teams before, but had to move to the Big East to even have a shot. It shouldn't be like that.
