I've always been told that yogurt has been good for clearing up yeast infections, but I'm not big on yogurt. In the case that I do ever get one, I was wondering what other foods or drinks might be helpful in clearing them up.

You can definitely try using plain yogurt vaginally, just make sure it contains live bacterial culture. You could also try taking capsules of acidophilus orally - they will have a much higher count of the friendly bacteria. Cut down on any sugars. Caprylic acid, garlic, grapefuit seed extract & oregano oil can all be helpful as well. Wear cotton undies. Do a little research on the above. Just remember if you take any antibiotic it kills ALL the bacteria - good & bad, so you will want to replace it by eating yogurt or taking acidophilus pills.

First off, OTC yeast infection medications are not recommended unless the doctor has examined you and determined you do, in fact, have a yeast infection.

HOWEVER, a yeast infection is exactly what it says, an infection. It needs to cleared up with an antifungal that can be either prescribed or picked up at your local pharmacy.

Yogurt is good for preventing yeast infections, but I've never heard of putting it down there, or using it to cure the problem.

I know that you aren't big on yogurt, but you aren't eating it. You get plain yogurt and use it there. If you get my drift. I know that sounds awful, but most medications are inserted with a tube and they are cream based. I have used the yogurt many times since 1989 PER my Doctor too. It's just a cream, like the other but less expensive.
But make sure you use the plain.

Monistat 1, it's a 1 day treatment and it works fast. It is more expensive, but the more days it takes the cheaper it gets, so you could get the others instead. Everyone else is right too, yogurt and cranberry juice will help in prevention and treatment.

Cranberry juice. It is good for any urogenital problems such as yeast infections of urinary tract infections. It has to be straight cranberry juice though, not the cranberry cocktail. But if I were you I would just buy an over the counter treatment like monistat and it will be gone in a day.
