It can be claimed that he caused the arson committed by native americans when they started retaliating against their brutal treatment at the hands of the American government during his time in office.

Yes, he probably did. A.J. was a major warrior who earned the name Stonewall because he fought instead of moving out of the enemies way.
I have no historical proof of him committing arson, so my answer is given on my personality: If I or my country (United States Of America) are ever at war, like now, I would and will do ANYTHING to win.

Well, arson is a tool of war. One could say that the Native Americans commited rape, murder, and arson when they burned settlements, repeatedly raped captured white girls, and murdered young white boys.
