Team two. Pitching on team one is mostly injury prone guys. The hitting on both teams is almost the same, but the first one will definitely get more stolen bases. The second team is way more consistent than the first.

Team 2

Both teams need closers. One closer won't get it done. Drop Mike Gonzalez and add a closer like dotel, tankersley or torres if available. I don't know about Kinsler or Drew yet, we'll see if they pan out. Team number 1 has a better pitching staff but Johnson is out for a while. Team number 2 has a better outfield, while team number 1 has a better infield. We will now settle this once and for all. Position by position. Catcher: Team 2 1B: Team 2 2B: TIE 3B: Team 1 SS: Team 1 OF: Team 2 Util: Team 1 SP: Team 1 RP: Team 2 P: Team 1

Team 1 wins 5-4

Hope this helps.

If we break the teams down position by position we find...
Catcher: Big edge MCCANN (Team 2)
1B: Slight edge LEE (Team 2)
2B: BARFIELD/KINSLER - EVEN
3B: Big edge ATKINS (Team 1)
SS: Big edge TEJADA (Team 1)
OF: Slight edge SORIANO (Team 1)
OF: Big edge BELTRAN (Team 2)
OF: Big edge BALDELLI (Team 2)
Util: Big edge HAFNER (Team 1)
SP1: Slight edge SHEETS (Team 1)
SP2: Slight edge VERLANDER (Team 1)
RP1: Big edge NATHAN (Team 2)
RP2: Slight edge GONZALEZ (Team 2)
P1: CAPUANO/HAMELS - EVEN
P2: This year: Slight edge PATTERSON (Team 1), but for a keeper league: BEDARD (Team 2) gets the slight edge.
P3: Slight edge: SABATHIA (1) But if WOOD becomes an efficient closer this is reversed

Team ONE: 6 points (+ 2 if you are counting ONLY this year and Kerry Wood does not become the closer in Chicago)

Team TWO: 6 points (+2 if this is a keeper league and Kerry Wood shines...also Kinsler might make a bigger overall impact as a keeper at the 2b spot too)

The tie-breaker however is that team TWO has a slight edge in that whenever their player has the edge, he has a greater edge than the times team ONE has the edge. So given that, I would have to say team TWO is the better team.

Your answer: Team 2
