I actually think it's just the opposite of what you said. The OLDER it is, the better.

Rap music today can never ever be compared to the rap music from the past. Rap music now is so ****** up and it will continue to be ****** up until the artist begin to make music for the music rather than make it for the glitz and glam. I totally cannot turn to a rap music station or television show without puking. It's so tasteless. Rap music is exactly like the movies being played today, everything is being copied from earlier works. Also every rap music video has a scantilly clad women dancing around in nothing. Whats up with that? Those video directors need to get a reality check.

A little bit more than 10 years ago, yes it was better. Before all the "gangsters" with big egos came in. I don't like rap today, and not much from before that either, but I respect older rap though. Stuff was more original and creative, and took more skill with sampling and DJ's and etc.

No, rap was way better 10 years ago. More rappers had more of a message, then todays rap.

1. there's a difference between a respectable woman and a *****
2. the same rappers that were out a decade ago are still alive [mostly] so i dont think anything has changed, except corporate America's fancy for the trendy club scene. **** Wu-tang clan is comin out with a new album, it might as well be 10 years ago
3. No

depends on what you call rap. All of those artists doing the MTV bling bling thang and slappin' hoes and all of that really are doing a great disservice to original thought, and disrespecting the pioneers of rap.
I would much rather listen to the underground rappers like Bus Driver and Blackalicious than posers like Nelly and 50 cent.

Not really, even though that was a contributing factor to what is going on now. Rap has changed and is involving more pertinant information about our every day life.

No No NO. Rap is dead. Today's rap is pointless, beat-less and lyric-less. Do ya chain hang low? Chicken Noodle Soup? Seriously, rap needs resuscitation BADLY.

Definitly NOT!!!! Today's rap is not rap. It's not true music. There's no message or nothing. It's about stupid dances, bling bling and hoes. There are a few rappers who are still true though. They're mostly not main stream. They get no air play.
