I was reading Kevin Trudeau's "What natural cures they don't want you to know about" and "more natural cures reavealed" I was flabbergasted to find out what the government is doing to us. I belive that even though he is a felon, he still means well. He has opened my eyes. My mom has anemia, on where her cells don't produce enough hemoglobins, the doctors say she needs a blood transfusion (not cheap) or take about 6 pills a day for a few months. After learning about this, I bought the book and started on the suggestion. So far everything is going great...but can I expect results? What do you think about this Kevin Trudeau figure? Do you belive he is correct about the government? or is he just another snake's oil salesmen out to make money? your opinions count

My personal opinion is that Kevin Trudeau is on the up and up, though anyone that makes money by "revealing" secrets that should be common knowledge tends to make me a little skeptical. The information that he shares is really nothing new to me, or anything that logic won't tell you if you look deep enough into what the government is about.

Though the government is suppose to protect us as citizens, the highly paid drug companies are really running the legislature and the government for that matter. Did you know that Aspartame, a drug that the government did a study on and found that it caused obesity and diabetes to occur at a higher rate in our youth, was voted safe for consumption even though it obviously wasn't. http://www.dorway.com/badnews.html
http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/embalm.html

What has happened? Diabetes in youth and especially in young females is at epidemic proportions today. Also, at 86 degrees the wood alcohol in Aspartame turns to formaldehyde. Not something that I'd want to be drinking.

As a fellow anemic, I can tell you what I did to alleviate the problem. I went on a Macrobiotic Diet which excludes all highly processed foods, including meat and dairy which contain high doses of antibiotics. I added sea vegetables to my diet, (you can purchase the book that I refer to in the Source section here, online and it will tell you how to make certain teas (they are high in trace minerals and vitamins, as well as iron) which are highly absorbable in this form. I began to feel better as my body healed and I was able to absorb the iron that I was so deficient in. Best of luck to your mom. I hope that she feels better soon and that this information helps. In the long run, the macrobiotic diet is much cheaper in cost than the doctor. As for Kevin Trudeau, he's quite interesting and informative, isn't he?

The book suggests two sheets of Nori per day. Nori is very high in iron. I'm sure you are familiar with Sushi which is usually wrapped in a sheet of Nori. You can also crumble it and add it to steamed bok choy, kale, or other leafy greens (not spinach due to the high oxalic acid content) as well as soups with a little organic Tamari or Shoyu (a special soy sauce) each day. That will start her on the road to recovery.

First off, he didn't write the book himself.

Second, many of the "cures" are accurate even if some lack the background to understand that. But is the book itself a good source of information and is he a good figurehead for "natural cure" or any form of alternative medicine?

I'd say no to both.

If you visit the FTC's website at ftc.gov and look up his name you will see that he is the only person in history to be banned from ever being in another infomercial again, for life. The one that you might see from time to time is the last one he's ever been in.

I think I heard he owns the World Series of Poker, or one of those new poker leagues.

If you have the book, it's an interesting read and much of what he says about the government blocking certain information can be validated to be factual. However, he does sensationalize the issues to put them out of context and make his book seem even more exciting.

I read Kevin Trudeaus Natural cures book about a year and a half ago. It is my opinion that most of what he says rings very true. Every suggestion from the book that we have implemented into our lives has been helpfull. Currently doing a colon cleanse, which is a great relief!! He has and does make alot of money, however I still have the impression he wants to inform and help others.

The guy has no medical education! So what that he read a few books by other guys like him? How can he have a clue? If your mother needs a transfusion, she's in a bad state, it's no time to trust some scam artist with big mouth who's trying to sell some books by promoting a conspiracy theory. The government wants you healthy b/c otherwise they will have to pay for your treatment not to mention days lost from work.

For a drug to be approved on the market it has to go thru a rigorous clinical trials where they study drug's effect and side effects, those immediate and long term (years). These supplements require clinical trials b/c they won't do much good or harm (unless you overdose)
When fixing a car would you go to a car mechanic or some guy off the street who has no education and is only telling you that the place around the corner is trying to rip you off!!

I think that he hits everything quite accurate. I've suspected this for years, just by reading ingredients on things and seeing the side effect of all the stinking medicines that the F.D.A. approves. Common sense tells you that. It's disgusting! It's all about money. If they cured us, instead of treating us, the pharmaceutical companies would be out of business. And those so called treatments wouldn't make them any money! They have to keep feeding us 'garbage' so they will make a fortune treating us with drugs that do great harm to our bodies. It's sickening and we keep allowing them to do it. God said that there is a cure for everything, but if we are cured, they don't have a job. It's a terrible shame that doctors care that little about us!

kevin is a fake. if it were that easy, we'd all be living until eternity through his "rendention" of what he deems is healthy and helpful.
most folks don't know that kevin has been in prison for fraud.
i have personally never met anyone who this book has helped. infact, what his suggestions are can be dangerous, if not life threatening.
diseases are complex. it's not as simple as kevin makes it out to be. if you go to the library and you check out other books along the same lines as kevin, you will probably find more of the same exact stuff, just written years ago.
when your health is of concern, playing russian roulette is not something you should be doing.
follow the doctors advice.

if it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. it also sounds as though your skeptable as well, otherwise you'd not be on yahoo answers asking a question about the very subject....

from someone who's been there and still talks about "cure alls and how dangerous they can be".....

As far as your mom goes, only time will tell. I was interested in the book at first, but then I researched all the opinions on www.amazon.com and there was so much negative response to the book that I didn't get it. I think someone sent it to my mom as a gift though, so maybe I'll check it out.

Snake oil salesman, con artist, grifter, and convicted felon for fraud, from previous infomercial scams. He has been around for many years, promoting one scam after another. He is no longer allowed to be on TV, that is why he resorted to this bogus book.

He promotes "government conspiracy theories" that they are hiding this simple information from you to keep the drug companies rich. He provides no evidence of this, just lots of innuendo.

He has no medical or para-medical training or education of ANY sort at all. Anybody who takes health advice from this charlatan is taking their life in their hands.

His natural cures book is dangerous and fraudulent.

His book is marketed at people who have a mistrust of doctors and science, it promotes a dangerous and non-scientific approach to disease that has no basis in fact, and more in common with mystical and shamanistic practices.
