I wouldn't call anyone who said things like that a Christian.

Thank you very much for saying "some Christians" instead of lumping everyone into the same category. There are many people proclaiming to be Christians who really aren't - they are just the "show and tell" type and they give everyone a bad name. You will not go to hell for not going to church. Church is suppose to be a support group for Christians where they can worship and be uplifted. But, sadly, many people in church are there only because it looks good on their social resume. I am sorry that you have encountered such mean people, but realize that not everyone shouting to the rooftops about their religion are actually good people. I think many are going to be seriously surprised come judgment day. If you are interested in finding out more about Christianity and church, shop around. Go to different churches until you find THE ONE that makes you feel welcome and all warm and fuzzy. But there are some very evil people in every church - where else would Satan do his best and hardest work. Understand this and stay away from those people who are mean. Good luck and thanks again for knowing that not all Christians are mean.

probably your friend was converted because he was afraid of the 'hell'..but not because he love God.

i dont consider catholic church as a Christian Church..its paganism mix with christianity. You can see it from their rituals, images, and doctrines. There are lots of doctrines that started or mingled with pagan doctrines. A glass of milk mixed with a droplet of poison is not safe at all.

that's the reason why there are Protestants. But im not saying that Protestants are not harsh. actually, i found more harsh protestants than catholics..since protestants claim that they found 'more lights' than catholics.

But still i believe that God's true Church is still existing..even to the end. Their teachings must conform to the same doctrines of God from the very beginning of this earth..'cause God does not change.

But im not saying that even if you find that true Church you'll never see harsh fellows. A Christian's attitude can be based from his/her maturity of relationship to God. He/she must know how to approach nonbelievers properly.

If you decide later to be converted to Christianity, make it sure that you understand by faith ALL doctrines. A baby cant do this.

"Forgive them for they know not of what they do". Jesus tought us to forgive and love among many other things. I have met some people that are very mean about it, stuck up and know little. They should have still accepted you and shown you love and understanding instead of telling you are going to hell... going to die from walking into church. Don't worry about them.

you sound a little mixed up..what is your point? is there one?

by all account you are not baptized or don't go to church..so you are not someone to make judgmental arguments..you are just looking into the window of life and missing out on a lot of good stuff...if you don't want to be a Christian then don't...that's easy...its not a do or die thing..maybe you just lost friends for other reasons as i don't think you know what you are asking in here? if you want to have a friend...then you have to be a friend... don't argue relgion or politics..you will only lose more friends when you do this..its something my parents told me a long time ago..

Because those people aren't real Christians. They are obviously ignorant of the the bible. Jesus taught tolerance and not to judge. Maybe they should go to church and get baptised again.

Hi friend, anyone who tells you that having water sprinkled on your head when you were a baby can save your soul is lying to you, that is not Christianity!!!

As far as Christians being harsh, yes, some are and some are not. There are Biblical examples of both methods.

However, the real issue is YOU, and your faith. The Bible says that faith in Jesus Christ is the only think that can save your soul.

Going to church or being baptized doesn't save the eternal soul of anyone!

Why don't you read this simple explanation of salvation and decide for yourself what you will believe about Jesus?

I'm with you, I don't think they should be critical because you don't go to Church.

They should be concerned because you don't know what a Christian is and that is scary. I think you should start asking the right questions here at yahoo.

Ask what a REAL Christian is?
