He's still talking to you because you're letting him. He sounds very young. He's trying to make you feel guilty by making statements like, "I can never replace his pain..." Don't be available for him to talk to you. Don't return his calls, e-mails, text messages. Don't answer the door if he comes a calling.
That's what a break-up is. Severing contact.

Now its all about him not letting go and regaining some sort of control. If you listen and do not talk to him he is in control. When he talks to you, and if you reply, I'll bet you talk to him "on eggshells" I mean to say you are careful, once again leaving him to feel in control.
