Just wondering, since I was really amazed by seeing the Grand Ole Opryand wonder why such a weekly music star cavalcade doesn't exist for other musical genres like rock (alternative, hard rock, metal, etc.). And I mean all live music, TRL and Soultrain have more of discoteque feels.

Having said all this, why don't comparable programs exist (weekly revues featuring a few big names and some regulars broadcast locally or nationally syndicated?

Dude, I totally spaced on Austin City Limits, so you get some points for that, but it's still not as famous as the Grand Ole Opry. At least, in the circles I run with.

And country does change as I know older folks who don't like some of the young country bits and some young country boppers who can't stand the older stuff (e.g. Hank Williams Sr.).
