I want to get married in Denmark. They require proof of current marital status.
So if I got divorced 3 years ago, and I show proof of this, that is not enough because it does not prove my PRESENT status. Any ideas, please help

You should contact the Denmark governement, the branch in charge of marriage, and ask them what counts.

I would think a copy of your divorce paperwork, and a copy of your credit report showing nothing linked to a spouse/significant other would work. But I'm not sure.

Hope they can help you!

Of course it proves your present status, unless you've remarried. I don't understand why the divorce decree is not sufficient proof. What will they accept as proof of your present status? The divorce decree should be sufficient. You might want to check with an attorney who is knowledgeable of these matters.

I would try to contact Denmark and see what they really want. I would think proof of divorce because thats all we have in the US however it is best to go to the source.
