I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze. When I drive the car I hear a rubbing noise in the right rear of the car. I checked to see if there is any unusual wear on the tires but there is not. It gets worse when I pick up speed.
Does anyone know what this could be?

brakes might be dragging, also could be the wheel bearing. shouldnt cost too much to get it fixed (no more than $100) one test would be to grab the top of the wheel and push on it hard and see if it makes a knocking or a clicking sound or if it just seems loose, if it does, its a bad wheel bearing.

i own a repair shop, and it sounds like a brake drum noise on it,and it could be that the rear brakes are wearing out on it,and its getting to hit metal to metal on it,this will make the noise your describing, you need to take it in to a shop, and have it checked out really good,if it is the brakes on it,you,ll need to get them repaired as soon as possible,or you stand a good chance of loosing them, good luck,i hope this helps.

Brake dragging, or a wheel bearing going out.
