If the child is to be with one parent part of the time (like during Spring Break) but the 15 yr old doesn't want to go, is there any legality in this situation

No the child can not be held in contempt. You can not force a child to go on visitation if the child does not want to go. IF a parent was to be keeping the non-custodial parent from having vistaiton THAT would be contempt. But a child not wanting to go is simply a child not wanting to go. The court will not force a child to visit a parent the child doesn't want to visit. The joint custody order is not for the child but for the parents.

Contact the court and tell them what's going on. They may not make the child go the may be another reason why the child doesn't want to go.
