I have a small bath and body business and met with a small PR firm who said that they could work with me for $600 a month plus a per hit fee, i.e. $350 of a weekly magazine hit, $600 for a glossy magazine hit. I have no idea if this is reasonable, or if I can do better. They would do press kits, look books, etc. for me included in the price. Thanks in advance.

Sound kind of pricey to me.

What's the objective of you hiring them to do your PR? Is it to increase sales?

Define your objective prior to hiring them.

What about writing your own press release and sending it out on line?

It seems like a lot of money you'd be paying out (over $1,000 a month).

You can increase sales using better methods at a fraction of the cost.
