Instead of being hanged like they were in Shakespeares time. They're getting worthless and meaningless jail terms and counseling. If they were hanged in a town square for being thugs. Then, they wouldn't be able to re-offend or get worse.

In my personal opinion it's due to certain types of media glorifying the lifestyle. You combine that kind of glorification with the fact that many members of gangs have not learned that there is a better alternative that is actually attainable.

Because liberalism has castrated police departments nationwide, and police today are no better than the thugs themselves.
