I've had an ovarian cyst for 2 months now and it seems to hurt more during my period. Has this happened to anyone else? I am going to see an ob-gyn tomorrow because my family doc wants fo wait a month or two to see what happens. In the meantime I am having extreme pain.

I just had surgery this past November to have ovarian cysts removed. Prior to the surgery, my periods were getting more and more painful. Ovulating was pretty painful, too. I'm glad your seeing your ob-gyn, because I realy don't recommend waiting. He will do an ultrasound to get a good look at your ovaries, along with bloodwork just to make sure everything is okay. I highly recommend the surgery, if thats what he suggests. It's done as an outpatient, and wasn't bad at all. It was a 5 day recovery, then I was back to work. Now, four months later, my periods are hardly painful and aren't lasting as long or as heavy. Good luck.

I have a 7cm cyst on my ovary. Had 2 ultrasounds done and bloodwork. Yes, absolutely it hurts way more right before my period and definitely during. Unfortunately I ve been told that I can t have mine removed till it s 10cm because it s been said through insurance if it s not medically necessary before 10cm then it doesn t impose an immediate health concern....stupid insurance. Meanwhile I m in pain and bloated. Best of luck to you.

I had more cyst's then ovary. My periods killed me and alot of that was cyst popping. You really need to talk to your obgyn and tell him everything even if there is things you might not think they need to know. Cyst's are common in lots of women, it's alot of them that it's time to freak. A hot pad really helped me with the pain. Hope this helps.

I have one too and I know that sex sometimes is uncomfortable. Get on birth control pills because it keeps the cyst from getting any bigger!
