I have an apartment that I rent out. The lady who rents it ownes a washer that is connected outside of the apartment. The drain is not connected to the drainage system, so the dirty water flows out of a PVC pipe into the grass. What can I do to fix this?????

If nothing else I would try to get something fixed so it would run into a sink! If I were you I would do it quickly that is illegal. My aunt works for DHEC and she goes and inspects homes and that is on her NO-NO list.

Why don't you buy her some bio-degradable soap and have free water for the trees. It is called grey water and can be used in sprinkler systems. Id just add some pipe for the discharge hose and move move the water away from the foundation. If you have one area of the foundation wetter than the rest it can be a big problem.

Call a plumber! Ask them to come over and give you an estimate on what it would take to get it installed properly. It's really tacky that she's letting nasty laundry water into the grass. Ewww

i would think that you could be blamed if the local zoning board finds out that you know this is happening. i think it has to at least drain into a dry well, unless the house is served by a city sewer, she is basically crating a cesspool.

hook it into a kitchen sink drain like everybody else has, pretty easy and cheap just a little time
