I just installed a Leviton motion sensor light in my hallway. It makes the light (when on) have a buzzing sound when in the auto (or sensor) mode. The buzz is not there when on the "on " position. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

If it's a fluorescent light the ballast might be defective. Also there may be an issue with the circuit hot and neutral being reversed. Or it could simply be a defective fixture. I'd return it and try another one.

The only thing I can think of is a bad connection between wires or between wires and the switch itself.

If it is the actually light buzzing I am not sure what that may be.
