Check the local courthouse records. They are open for public viewing if it is a legally filed document. If you know the date and the names of the separation it is very simple to access. If it isn't on file, then it is either not a legal separation or he is being truthful with you.

Contact his ex and ask her.... You may also want to see if it is filed anywhere legally... I am not sure if this would be public records or not.... You may want to contact an attorney and see if there is any way of finding this out... You could even call your local courthouse and find out what you can do if anything. Good luck. If you cannot feel you can trust him why are you even seeing him in the first place? He does not sound like a good guy for you to be seeing hon. I think you would be better off without him in your life.

Even if he is legally seperated she is still NOT his ex. He may refer to her as his ex but they are STILL married. A legal seperation is NOT a disilliusionment of a marriage. Only a divorce ends a marriage...so you're dating a married man.

in my state there is no such thing as a legal separation.....divorce filings are public record you would check with the court in the county he resides; but why would you want to date someone you don't trust???

Go to the county clerks office in the county that he says he got it at. And ask to see if any papers were filed. If so request a copy. This is public information.

seperation does not equal divorce. if he has filed for divorce just go to the courthouse and check. you might want to stop dating him until the divorce is final. just my oppinion
