Adolph Eichman wasn’t brought to justice, he was murdered by the Israelis. And the Soviets massacred millions of German POW after the war, guilty and innocent alike.

Most SS troopers who were involved in the any sort of massacre of the holocaust got off scott free. In part because it was simply impractical to prosecute a hundred thousand people, and also because the Germans did a good job of destroying their records, so we didn’t know who they all were. A few were tried and executed, these were show trials, and while they often executed people who probably did what the were accused off, they also sometimes killed people who weren’t as guilty as we are lead to believe. Most of the leaders were killed, a lot of the rank and file soldiers weren’t prosecuted. But make no mistake, no matter what you think of them, they weren’t unscathed by what they did, and many of them have suffered greatly in their lives for it. Even if they escaped judicial justice.

A few SS men were brought to justice (particuarly by the Soviet, Polish and French judicial systems) many were allowed to flee from prosecution by the American and British militaries. In the 1950's and 1960's the East Germans prosecuted a number of SS war criminals, and the West Germans had a handfull of prosecutions as well. But most of the SS escaped prosecution.

I believe that many were either put to death or imprisoned. However, many escaped that fate by running away to South America, the place in our world that holds the largest Nazi population in this day in age.

Some were brought to justice, many weren't. One of the most prominent instigators was Adolph Eichman, who escaped to Argentina after the war. Thanks to Israeli agents he was kidnapped and brought to justice. Joseph Mengele, the doc at Auswitz, escaped his fate by hiding out in Brazil. Many were brought to justice, however, many escaped.
