I have been researching these two topics for the past week. This is for an on line class. We are allowed to have others opinions. I was just wondering if anyone knew any good sites where I could find information on british philosophy. I tried looking up analytic philosophy and Empiricism but didn't find all that many details that I can compare and contrast to continental philosophy. I am not looking for someone to answer the compare and contrast part. I am asking if anyone knows any good sites where I can find information on those 2 types of philosophy.

i'll "help you do.. ur own homework";

Just like the late scholar Sir karl Popper has taught me almost everything i needed to know in "philosophy"(so italicised because,not only the drivel thats written in it but also
the stupidity of those who apparently think that there is some
actual Stone or Wizard, who knows everything)

Sir karl, in discussing and criticising british philosophy
(and i know now he was correct in all he had to say-im
british and ashamed to say i had to listen to some of its
diatribe at my university,many years ago)talked brilliantly
about it and one of its Greats,Bertrand Russel-nobel prize
winner for literature i think- and, trust me,Sir karl always
used his immense mind and of course his learned theories
in the discussion(it was originally a radio discussive talk
made into a paperback book;cannot recall the exact title
something like Modern British Philosophy.... edited by that
british philosopher Mcgee-check that, the book is very much
worth reading,believe me).
Good luck.

I have always been under the impression that British philosophy is a bit more conservative and empirical. Continentals, especially the French, tend a bit more toward anarchy and emotionalism (the 20th-Century trend toward deconstructionism and nihilism being a good example). The British tend toward a more traditional epistemological model. But that is by no means intended to be a universal analysis; it's just a personal observation.
