remember there are 2 factors to be a driver in f1 tallent and money, and marco brings both, and his best asset is youth, hes too young to know what he cant do, and get ready to see record crouds at the usgp if he does sign with honda, as for danic i couldnt agree more, if she was ugly nobody would be talking about her,

IRL is still a series that you can make the jump itno F1, if you desired to do so. I dont think that Marco could make the jump into F1 at this time, although if he did I think that he would be able to compete at that level. Looking back into history you can see that a few drivers have cross competed, the most noticable is Mario Andretti, A.J Foyt, and Tony Stewart. Both Andretti, and Foyt have won the Daytona 500, and Stewart and others pulled double duty for the Indy and Cup race on the same day. However being able to jump from one series to the other with sponsorship, and owners contracts on drivers is becoming harder and harder to do. When Stewart raced the Indy 500, remember he drove a Home Depot sponsored car.

Its possible that within a few years he might seek to go into another series I just dont think that it is going to happen. No wait let me change that with a last name like his if wants to go F1, he can go F1 only after he wins a championship in IRL though.

I think he will ride in the IRL for a year or two, then go. Granddad Mario wants Marco to get a taste of all kinds of racing, and right now, F1 will help build driving skills better than go fast turn left and the limited road courses on the IRL schedule.

He will if he can get a ride in F1. It's a hard jump and F1 is where the big boys play. If he is not ready he could end up like Zanardi. F1 is a lot faster then when Mario was racing. He could end up in Nascar like Montoya or back to Champ cars or Indy if he doesn't cut it. He is talented but patience comes with maturity.

NFW.

Marco is more Michael than Mario ... he cannot cut it in F1 right now. He got a test with Honda to keep his daddy happy, but there's absolutely no way they'd be dumb enough to offer him a race seat.

I don't really understand how this crap keeps coming up. The IRL is about as useful for road course training as **** on a boar. There has *never* been a full-time IRL driver who moved to F1, and Marco certainly isn't going to be the first.

While we're at it, let me save you the trouble of asking the same question about Danica ... no. Never. Not qualified. Period.

No, like Edward says IRL is not good training for F1. Running well in Champ Car or Formula Nippon, F3000 etc., would be much better preparation for a F1 career than any variety of oval racing.

I don't think IRL is any kind of training for F1. If he wants to prepare for F1, he should be in CART. I think he'll stay with IRL for awhile. I have heard AGR is pushing for more road courses. Maybe to get Marco training and maybe the fact that they have Franchitti who is awesome at road courses.
