Who is the best hero - Batman or Superman? You can choose to compare movies and comics, but please say WHY this hero is the best - at least two reasons, if you can.

Personally...I think it's Batman b/c he doesn't have any special ability other than being filthy rich.

Bats AND Supes. There's no need for an "OR" here. As characters we need them both, and I think people tend to gloss over what makes them interesting.

Batman does not want revenge.. he's not a psycho, he just wants justice and fairness in a world that does not always provide it. Any writer who portrays him as a vengeful sociopath is lazy and misses the point of the character. He goes out of his way to prevent others from experiencing the pain he experienced as a child. He shows his enemies more mercy than they afford him, and always thinks his way through everything. Even when he's out of costume, he uses his fortune to improve the city in which he lives.

Superman is just as interesting a character. He's hard to write, so people simplify him. What makes the character so interesting his the inner strength required to not abuse the power in him. He could get away with anything, he has no reason to fight crime, but he does it anyway. He has no reason to work a day job...but it keeps him human. We can't be Superman, but we can try to be Clark Kent... and just doing that would make the world better.

Batman because he doesn't blindly follow the law. Superman had a perfect life compared to batman. He was raised on a farm by two loving "parents', while Batman had his parents killed in front of him. Batman had to have the ambition to make his own "powers" For all that they are showed as friends I don't think that the two of them would ever be friends. Crime has never really touched Superman personally the way it has Batman.

Superman is the better hero here. Batman seems to be more interested in punishment and revenge than heroism. He's an interesting character, but not as devoted of a hero as Superman is.

This is simple who sells more comics. Batman more titles more movies. People love the idea that if you train hard you can be a hero. you don't have to be from another planet. Superman comics are dull he is to hard to beat. He doesn't need to use his brain power like batman does. How cool is it when Batman beats a bad guy with superpowers.

It is difficult to compare apples to oranges. Really, that is what is happening. One is human. The other is Kryptonian which is humanoid. There is also the problem of conflicting story lines in both comics.
Superman starts out with the strength of 10 men and no ability of flight. Then he becomes vulnerable to Kryptonite because an actor needs a vacation. In the latest set of stories, Superman can be killed and has strength enough to raise an entire piece of the Earth as in the movie where he saves California after a nuclear explosion threatens a very unnatural earthquake.
Batman has gone through his own changes. He starts out a millionare. Today that is nothing so he becomes a billionare. He starts out using simple gadgest and crude but effective street fighting. Now he is some type of master fighter with skills in illusion as well. He has also become quite intelligent and educated regarding sciences as well as culture.
In short, both characters reflect current society as well as changes to make the character as capable of winning as possible. Several contests between the two have been held with varying results. Both have strong ethics. Their morals are questionable depending upon which storyline you follow. Are they willing to kill? Are they willing to die? What sacrifices are they willing to make to save lives? What sacrifices are they willing to make to win? I think these are better questions. Traditionally Superman has not been able to kill or let someone die. Batman has been able to do so reluctantly. I think that is better analysis. In the end, everyone cannot be saved. In the end, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. You have to be both willing and able to make the difficult choices.

Good luck finding answers.

Bats. He's got an actual depth of character you can follow throughout his life. Sure he's dark and broody, and that can get a little old, but that's part of his evolution. Plus he has to rely on his smarts to think about all the equipment he needs and how to use it.

Supes is a goody two shoes who views the world in black and white, while Bats is all about the shady grey. Supes is just not as interesting a character as Bats. Plus, Supes is smitten with Lois, the lamest lady in comicdom, whereas Bats has better, if not more villianous, taste in women.

best hero Superman, i mean he is stocked full of super powers, you know them. Also, people can look upon him as a model citizen.

but

Batman makes a better antihero than hero. he is a vigilante and thats a good thing, you need to be one in order to patrol the streets of Gotham.

but yeah better hero supes
better overall character
Batman. why he's driven to be a "hero" not obligated.
