The computer has nothing whatsoever to do with the speed of your internet connection. As to the best computer, you mention something not being too expensive and yet you ask for the best computer. The best will always be the most expensive. As far as who uses the best quality components inside, NO oem computer maker (be it Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway, ect) uses top quality parts. The only way to get a high quality computer is to have one built to your specs (or build it yourself) using quality parts. No Dell or Compaq or any of that crap can TOUCH the quality of a custom machine.

Oh, and the goofball that posted before me that thinks having dual gigabit ethernet ports will double your download speed should be loaded into a canon and shot into the sun so he doesn't spread any more utter nonsense to the world.

The best computers are always the custom rig where you assemble different parts together. That way you actually get the best of the best of everything.

But if you're looking for ready-made and cheap, I suggest going for Dell. They're reliable and considerably cheap for the quality. Same goes for the server too.

As for quick speedy connection to the Internet, get a good ISP service and consult networking experts in setting up your server(s) and computer(s). With proper equipment and planning, you'll get great Internet in no time.

There is no "best computer on the market" really.....It all depends on what you are using it for, and what price range you are looking for. Do you want a desktop or a laptop? I would try to narrow these things down a little first. Also, by "the best server", do you mean Internet Service Provider?

I don't know about computers, but I like the specs for Alienware computers. They seem to go a bit beyond the cost oriented approach of the mass marketers. If you have the chance get dual gigabit ports, it will double up on the download speeds. Gigabit routers are what's in the near future, if you're going wireless, get one of the N's with gigabit ports, otherwise just get the N. It will likely be faster than your cable or dsl modem, but I'm sure the next generation in cable modems will be out with gigabit soon.
