My best friend that I grew up with when I was a baby, lives in Cali, but I live in another state. We still visit eachother a lot. He was on aim, and I said hello, and he just ignored me and signed off. I dont know whats the deal, but we never fight, and its not like we are going out or anything, we are just really good friends. We have always gotten along, but I dunno why he ignored me. It was my 1st time IM'ing him on aim, and I told him who I was, and then he just signed off!!! What do you think is the deal?

Well, for one, someone else could've been on the computer while he was signed in. When you IM'd them, they realized that they were signed in, and so signed off.
He heard that you were talking about him, or something like that, and is now mad at you for something you did or didn't do.
He's having a real crappy day and just got annoyed because he was doing work, and signed off.
Bad timing.
Maybe to play a joke on you?
Maybe it wasn't him...(I'm serious) maybe you got the IM address wrong and now some dude thinks you're stalking him
Good luck! Hope it all goes well!!!

I think you are overreacting a bit. It could have been that he was already away from the pc and you caught him as it was shutting off, or maybe it was a family member on his account. Don't freak out quite yet. Try to message him another time and see what happens or just call him and say whats up.

It's very very possible it might not have been him online, maybe someone else using his PC. Also there are sometimes when time is of the essence and maybe he was in a hurry. Don't automatically think something is wrong. Just chill out until you talk to him again. Good Luck

Sometimes it takes a little bit for computers to "catch up" with each other. Meaning, he may have signed off but he still showed up as online to you. It has happened to me and many others countless times. He'll get your message when he signs back in.

I would'nt worry about it. He probably got kicked off line or someone else was on his aim. You should ask him if he was online and if he was then just ask him why he signed off so quick. Make sure you talk to him before assuming anything.

im sure it was an accident. that happends to me a lot. whole bunch of people are im`ing me. but either my parents are using the computer or im not even there. maybe his parents or sblings signed on by accident and were trying to sign out when you started talking to him. if you are worried and its not like him give him a call and ask him whats up.
hope this helps:)

Many things could've happened. I would not get upset. Here's some things that may have happened:

He was in the process of signing off
He didn't accept a new IM from someone he didn't know (if he didn't know you had a screenname)
His internet was having problems and disconnected him

Did you ever think, that maybe he was just having a bad day? Why don't you send him an email and ask what the problem was? I am sure it is nothing to worry about. Good luck and try not to worry so much.

Maybe he wasn't even sitting there and he went offline... or maybe someone else sat at his computer and shut him down... I do it to my daughter all the time... she leaves it on and goes out or falls asleep and people are im'ing her... I just turn the computer off...

Hold on now, someone else could have been on his computer and they signed off not knowing who you were! So give him another chance, OK?
