Your brakes favor to be checked suitable away and see in case your pads/shoes are wiped out or just about wiped out. maximum disc brakes pads have a "squeaker" outfitted in that rubs on the brake rotor and makes a severe pitched squeal even as the pads are just about wiped out. once you've drum brakes on one axle you've a brake shoe worn right down to the point that the metallic backing plate is rubbing on the brake drum. Have all 4 brakes checked by technique of your relied on mechanic and restore as needed.

There are inserts built into brake pads which squeek when the pads are worn down close to the metal.
You need to change pads soon before they get to metal and ruin your drums/discs.

i own a repair shop and it could either be a combination of the pads or the metal in the rotors ,sometime cheap pads don't work well with good rotors, and vise verso also, and a good build up of just plain old brake dust can cause this to happen also, but the majority of the time its the pads ,certain type of pads will just do this with certain type of metals, its mostly caused by the amount of metal used in making the pads also, most of them now are semi-metallic,and will do this once in a while, good luck,i hope this helps.

it could be something simple like an accumulation of brake dust.... or it could mean that your brake shoes have worn substantially and may need to be replaced. In any event, I would suggest having them looked at, either by yourself if you feel confident in doing so or seeing your mechanic. Always better safe than sorry with brakes.

on your brake pads are metal pieces that hang down to tell you when your brake pads are getting low. They tend to squeek when the metal piece is hanging down hits your metal rotor of your brake. I'd tell you its about time you check your brake pads.

If they squeak all the time except when you apply them, your wear indicators are telling you to get new pads. If they squeak only when you apply them, get them checked. You may have a caliper sticking or something like that which you need fixed soonest. Disc brakes tend to get dry and squeal even when there is nothing wrong with them too, so it may be nothing which is why you need to get them checked. If there is a problem you'll know it and be able to get it looked after, and if there is nothing wrong except the noise you'll have peace of mind.
