if its a laser printer check the manual on cleaning the light bar .

Try letting it run through the clean cycle, align the printer heads.

Because you need to align the print cartridge. What you do is take out one of the cartridges and put it back in, the computer will promt you to align, DO IT, and yeah, from there it explains itself.

You might also clean the actual cartridge, where the ink is dispensed, with a q-tip that has a little alcohol on it.

It can be the wrong type of paper. It can also be bad driver or a dirty print head
