without causing offence to anyone, i just find that most australians i come across are extremely arrogant and have a complex that they are better than you...is this a myth or is there a reason for this?

I am a kiwi. Kiwis are not renown for sticking up for Aussies but I will this time. I think you will find that Aussies are the same as anyone else - yes, you do meet some that think they are better than anyone else but isn't that the same with every country? I think this is a myth. I know some great Aussies who are really down to earth.

I can tell you that not all australians are arrogant. You can have the best and worst in people all over the world. It is a shame that you have met some arrogant aussies, we are all not like that. I believe that I live in one of the luckiest countries in the world and i am happy to be an Australian. I think that most Australians have the same attitude i do and we do live in one of the best countries in the world but many Australians take it for granted. Not all of us come from convict stock, as i seen in one of the answers posted. For myself my father was of Aboriginal decent and my mother was of Irish decent. I hope that I answered your question.

It's 2134 CST here in the U.S. , do you think they are more arrogant then us??? Because I know I'm that way because of being an American.... The GREATEST nation in the world.

Just remind them they are descendants of rapists and cons. They live in a country that they stole
