I tried a hammer to get through an abandoned vehicle window, and it did not work. The man in truck who came to take it to scrap yard knew how. He used the jib of his crane. I once tried to cut a piece off a side window from my car using a stone saw. It cut pretty well, but toughened glass is under a certain type of tension, and the remaining cut window was a few minutes later, lying on the drive way and suddenly shattered on its own accord. I saw two guys on dope crash a stolen car, and thier heads made deep hemispherical dents in the laminated windscreen. You could try that if you are trying to nick one.

It depends on how hard you throw it and how far away. I threw a 24mm 1/2 inch impact socket at a tempered glass window and it didn't break and I was about five feet away. But a brick? Hmmm.....I'm not sure what you're trying to pull off here.

the best way to smash presumably a side car window is to jam a large flat headed screwdriver in between the glass and car door and then force the screwdriver outwards away from the car and they shatter everytime! its quick but wear gloves! an autoglass technician taught me that when some swine pinched my tom tom! hope your not in this category and its just revenge for someone knobbing your wife? another good one is to cellotape a small stone to the window and then hit the stone with a hammer! carefull with the cellotape though as it loves to pick up your finger prints

You could try taking the brick back to the supplier, and ask for a refund under the Sales of Goods act as unfit for the purpose for which it was intended.

A little of both. Sometimes the window will shatter by itself unexpectedly after a strike due to stress in the glass.
I had this once after etching a rear window.

it depends on what window your triing to break the front window always has film in the inside to hold it together better therefor id recomend breaking a side window first because they are usually more expensive to replace unless your talking on a camaro or corvette then the rear window is by far more expensive.

it means the brik is broke. Or it could mean you are a week chave who ought to be locked away next time stand closer to the car then either the brick will do its job or it will bounce back and smack you in the face

bad choice all around... youre obviously new to this, so stop listening to your daft mates... crime is easy, but the time isnt.

modern cars, like the ones your targetting probably have laminated windows, which dont break when you hurl a rock at them, no matter what your methodology...

and sooner or later youre going to end up on police camera action, and they wont be nice about you...and your mate will rip you to bits... whether theyve been nicked or not... its not a badge of honour...

ive two stretches, one for armed robbery, and another for multiple charges of vehicle theft etc, as my arresting officer said, gotcha you little bastard... and he had... and what makes it worse, i got nicked twice before i learned a lesson... you cant mess with the system, its all messed up... but that was in my day 25 years ago... nowadays plod is just as lazy, and just as easy to divert... but they have cameras, and helicopters, and forensics, DNA doesnt lie...does it? and they have cars which are as fast as motorbikes...oh and theres millions of them at the end of radio...

so there you go, dont say i didnt explain things, so you know exactly whats going to happen, not today, not tommorow... not even in a year... but you will get nicked... the law of averages diminish with time...

but maybe i know this now, and thats why ive been out for ooo 1982 it was, we'd just done for the argies, and i met my wife, who im still with...

enjoy your future. behind bars your just another number...

It means one of two things:
1) You didn't throw it hard enough or 2) (less likely) the window you threw it at is bullet-proof.

I'm guessing you tried to break someone's window with a brick. Throw harder next time before he/she shoots you.
