My brother is gay, my best friend from high school is gay, I have many friends who are LGB, and my best friend is Bi. My little brother came out to me when he was 19 (he's 8 years younger than I). It was really just confirmation... I've cared for him since he was born, and I knew already. He said... "Sis... I came out to my best friend last night." I said... "Okay." There was a pause... he practically yelled down the phone line... "WELL?!!! Aren't you going to say anything else!!!"

So I said... "I know, I love you, it's cool with me. If anyone gives you problems, let me know, and they shall feel the wrath of your big sister!!!" We laughed, and it was all good. Still is.

If you are coming out... Best Wishes... I answered some of your other questions. I am guessing that you have people in your life, that like me, will stand beside you in case you need someone to lean on. Go for it!

If you're coming out, realize that what you are saying can hurt other people: it's nice when they say, 'Oh, that's cool, fine' but then you involve them in your dramas and it truly is hard to believe there can be anything behind all that mutual masturbation. 'Yeah, all right, I get it. Now get a real life and stop hiding from the real stuff that goes on in life.'
How did I know someone was bi? She stripped off all her clothes and thought she was turning me on. Pretty desperate. Ugh, I had to leave. Not even tempted to be bi. And a guy would never be that dumb or that desperate.

My good friend's sister came out to me during a talent show. A bunch of manly looking girls came on the stage and I made the comment "Those chicks are such dikes!" Her response was: What makes you say that?" My response "Just look at the way they dress and their appearance! They are definitely lesbos".....She then said: "Well, is that what you think about me? You know I'm gay right???" My heart jumped into my throat...I realized in that moment that she was gay! That experience made me think twice before I made ignorant comments in the future!

My best friend is bi & you would think that would be wierd but its not. I know she likes girls at my school. As for coming out, she was just like "I'm bi." & we all pretty much knew it before that cause of the way she acted.

Shes the one that figured me out too.. Lol. ;) [bi]

I just found out that my brother is gay. He never told me and he still denies it. I happened to find his profile on myspace. And he always has acted gay. I think that it's okay for guys to be gay but i hate lesbians.

After telling me she couldn't trust any other family members she said she was gay & had known that she was since she was a child.

I told her it didn't matter to me, I loved her no matter who she slept with & I would help her tell the family.

After a few bad starts the family is fine with it and she has a loving 5 year relationship with her girlfriend.

He didn't actually come out, one day a bunch of us were hanging out and he just started talking about this guy he liked. Apparently, I looked a little confused, and he just turned to me and asked, "oh, well I guess you didn't know. I just assumed since I'm so obvious."

I know SEVERAL people that are glbt...most of them didn't need to "come out" to me, though. Either I knew when I met them, or I figured it out myself.

Im totally cool with it... as long as he keeps the sexual stuff to himself, as would I... then were cool...
