Is there a difference?

Is there a difference between a Compact laptop and a HP labtop? I have heard that the Compact is just cheaper on the wallet and the HP has more problems but both coming from a Compact laptop owner. So, is there any other differences, does anyone know? Just asking.

Same company...HP is keeping the Compaq name around after merging with them because the name still has brand recognition. I have owned both. Both are good and now prob made in the same place. Most new notebooks that I have seen are sold as HP/Compaq.
