I have just recently moved to a new apt. and the previous tenants were not very clean and they had roaches in the kitchen area. I had the exterminator spray and I put Combat all over the apt. as well as boric acid everywhere. It is working because I haven't seen any since I moved. I want to keep it this way. The boric acid seems to be the perfect protection but I don't know if it keeps its potency or does it fade away? I abhor roaches and I want a clean, comfortable apt. to live in.

Be sure to change the Combats as often as it says to on the box--that's a sure way to stop them. The Boric Acid should say on the container--even if not, it's very inexpensive, and you can replace it often if it makes you feel safer. You could also do a search on boric acid + pesticide, and see what pops up :)

Until it gets wet and cakes into clumps.

First of all, you live in an apartment. Try to become one with the roaches, think of them as friends. They will never go away.
