WHY do most of the major networks run repeats during the playoffs? Why is college basketball on those channels anyway? Isn't that what ESPN is for?

I couldn't agree more!!! ESPN is for people who WANT to watch sports, which contrary to what the major networks think, isn't everyone! If I wanna see basketball then that's where I will go. Why they feel the need to put re-runs on, even if they don't show sports on their channels, I'll never know. Most people have more than one TV in their houses nowadays, so it's not like the whole house would be forced to watch sports if one person did. The networks need to take into account the varied tastes of their viewers. They're there to entertain ALL of us after all. There's no need to ruin the month of March for everyone else. Great Question!!!

children, children. espn only carries college basketball during the regular season. CBS has carried the 'road to the final four' as long as i can remember. i don't know how it affects the other channels (FOX, NBC, ABC) but the only time CBS will stray away from the survivor, the amazing race and whatever else they show, will be on the saturday and sunday during championship week, thur/fri/sat/sun during the run of the tournament (as the field of 65 dwindles to the final four), and the monday night which the remaining two teams will battle for the title. it's not as if all 52 weeks of the year have a new episode of 'crap sitcom/reality show nonsense', so odds are it's about rerun time anyway.

You need to find another hobby than watching t.v. From your questions it sounds like you watch too much of it.
