Look anywhere dark and warm. It probably didn't go far from the tank.
If you turn the lights out in that room, it may be more likely to come out of hiding. Use a flashlight to look under furniture, too. Don't forget they can climb, although they don't usually.
At 3 1/2 ft. It's doubtful the cat will want to tackle it, but I'd try confining it to an area where you can determine the snake isn't easily - like in the bathroom with a litter box.
If you don't find the snake quickly, turn down heat (if it's on) in that room and put a source of warmth (hot water bottle?) on the floor. If you put some plastic bags (shopping bags) around this, you might hear when it comes out to keep warm. Check this area periodically, and he should turn up before long.
Another places that snakes like are behind refrigerators!

Adding to the above answers. Keep an eye on the cat. It will tell you where the snake is probably before you find it by looking on your own.

Ball Pythons are great escape artists. I found one of mine hiding on the compressor of my refrigerator once. The pet shop I bought her from told me she escaped them twice as well and was found inside their Coke machine both times. I also had one escape and get into the walls of my house and never found her again but you would hear her in the walls and ceilings at night for about 3 months. Kind of scary when you have a baby in the crib. My advice is check all spots where there is any source of heat ie... refrigerator, hot water pipes, furnace vent vicinty. And shuffle your feet when you walk at night, you dont want to kill your pet by stepping on it in the dark.

Like copperhead said, turn the lights off and wiat or better is turn the lights off and get a rat or what ever you feed it and drag it along the floor and wait to see if the snake comes out and follows the trail of the rat.
