i own a repair shop and all you have to have on it is s positive wire, one that is hot when the car is running, then it will let it lock up once it shifts through all the gears, that's about all there is too that one,its sort of simple, good luck,i hope this helps.

sorry but the lock up torque converter not being wired up will not cause the trans to not shift. the most common cause of a no shift on a 700r4 is a stuck throttle valve in the valve body. install a 0-250 psi Gage on the main line pressure tap (located just above the gear select lever) if pressure is above 80-100 psi at idle valve is poss. stuck

I have built this model trans since they came out and can tell you for sure, the elec conn on this trans is ONLY for engaging the torque-conv or lock-up its called by some, If it will not shift out of first, then you have a badly misadjusted TV cable or the TV valve in the valve body is stuck.which is a common problem with these units.Have a knowledgeable trans tech ck the cable for proper set-up

try changing the vacuum modulator on the right side of tranny and running a new vacuum hose from it to the vacuum port on carb or intake manifold (it was on a v-six right then you put it on a v-eight right?)
