I need to free up some space on my computer. How do I know what to delete or remove and how do i know what I need to keep?? Over the past couple of years it seems to have slowed down-I know it has a bunch of junk in it. Is ther any wat to completely get rid of programs and other stuff? Someone told me that what goes in stays in. I am running WIN XP Pro on a compaq presario desktop. Any suggestions ??

Why do you want to know which files to delete?
You dont need to know.A registry cleaner can do this automately. Using registry cleaner can fix your pc and then make your pc faster,Why?the reason is that there are some regsitry errors in your PC to cause "Computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the pc registry. You need to scan and clean your PC with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your PC and Internet performance dramatically. It even can speed up your PC by 300% or more!

Try going to http://www.ccleaner.com/ and download the program. It gets rid of temp files, cookies, history, etc. You'd be surprised how much space you free up. This may also improve the performance of your system, too. Another thing, it can clean up the registry and has a great uninstaller function.

I'd reccomend a windows refresh or in other words, ressetting your computer to factory condition and earning back all the neccessary files or saving them to a jump drive of sorts. (all mp3s work just like a portable hard drive with a screen) or get a program like ccleaner for just a little more free space, deletes junk programs too.
including internet history and add-ons if you want it too.
very personalized and asks what you want to delete.

You can delete any programs that you have downloaded that you no longer use, clean out temporary files and cookies often (found in Internet options). Peace!
