My girlfriend told me something about an island (possibly a british territory and possibly in the Atlantic) where the population has or had reached a critical human breeding pool mass. She says that she read something that said that because the variety of genes is so limited there..... get this... she says the women are unable to become pregnant. She said that it showed some sort of proof of nature taking over and not letting things get too messed up.
Has anyone ever heard of this??? Know the name of the island??? We have searched and searched to no avial.

Side note, she is German and maybe read about it in a Geo magazine... or some other German publication..
