Because scientists follow the evidence instead of listening to and/or taking arguments out of context. Many scientists do believe in God and the spiritual nature of things. You could say there is a conflict there, but I don't dwell on that. I just don't take EVERYTHING in the Od Testament literally.

Evolution continues to happen today, but a monkey doesn't just wake up one day and turn into a human. It takes a little longer, like at least 10,000 years.

Why do people believe any other explanation for where we came from? None of it is happening today. Did you see God create everything?

Scientists can look at evolution and it explains what we can see today.

Evolution does happen today. Bacterial have evolved to become resistant to some antibiotics since they started being used about 60 years ago. There are many other examples.

One does not have to see the fire, to believe one existed when one sees a burned down building.

Scientists don't, you do. When you evolve in populations from common ancestors the branch points develop along differing lines, due to mutational variation and environmental changes. Why do I have the feeling I have been typing in vain?

I don't know of any scientists who believe we evolved from monkeys, but I can understand what you mean. They believe it because they understand it to be true. Evolution is the only thing which makes logical sense.

Here's a list of things man has been.
Note the time it takes to slowly evolve from one level to another.
Bear in mind that A.ramidus didn't just wake up one morning as A afarensis. The change was gradual, following climatic changes and so-on. Man has not changed appreciably in 400,000 years.
How much change would there be in recordable history? How much change would you expect to see in a monkey in your lifetime?

Australopithecus ramidus - 5 to 4 million years ago
Australopithecus afarensis - 4 to 2.7 million years ago
Australopithecus africanus - 3.0 to 2.0 million years ago
Australopithecus robustus - 2.2 to 1.0 million years ago
Homo habilis - 2.2 to 1.6 million years ago
Homo erectus - 2 to 0.4 million years ago
Homo sapiens - 400,000 to 200,000 years ago
Homo sapiens neandertalensis - 200,000 to 30,000 years ago
Homo sapiens sapiens - 130,000 years ago to present

Hope this helps.

This theory comes from rejecting the belief that God created the world as He said He did in the Bible. Evolution is the only other possbility. I science, when you make an assumption and from that assumption derive impossible conclusions, it is understood that you have made an incorrect assumption. So to an honest scientist, creation is proved. They know this but they still won't accet it because then they would have to give an answer to God for their sin, which their pride will not let them do. The Bible says they are blind and spiritually dead, as these things are spiritually discerned.
