Gilbert Arenas i think is overated. He had one good month in december when they were comparing him to MJ on sportscenter. Sine then he shot 41% and 38% for januarary and feburary. for the season he shots 41%. He averages 21 shots and hits 8. I think he is just a guy who jacks up a lot of shots. I think he is a very good player. I think he is on like paul pirece level. He just has a very good supporting cast. He is to streaky of a shooter. But i will say he is a good clutch performer. However so is robert horry.

I wouldn't say overrated as much as over-expectations

there is so much talk in the forums about Arenas being the greatest and Arenas being average....

i have to agree with u to a point saying that Arenas is "over rated". he is a fantastic player and a true character in the L. at the moment he is struggling with his shot. the % are down and his team is suffering.

as the focal point of his team's offence he does need to take shots, because if he doesnt, there will be more of a burden on Jameson and Butler who i think benifit from the game that Arenas plays, and not vice versa.

i think the comparison to MJ would only be for his clutch shooting ability....but thats it. and yes as u said, even Horry is a clutch performer. as long as Arenas' % are down, i dont think we can regard him in the higher level of players like Jordan and Bird. yes hes a great player, but a lot of players in the L can take up to 30 shots and be one of the lead leaders in scoring

Well, he is a little over rated. I think its more that people expect so much of him, and he doesn't always meet those expectations and people just say that he's overrated.

He definately needs to learn how to play defense and his own position better instead of shooting the ball everytime he has a half an inch of space.
