Try using a primer or a better moisturizer. If you are using powder, that may be the cause too.

You can start by exfoliating your skin and moisturize well, apply a primer if u feel you need one, use a brush to apply your foundation it will blend it and make it look flawless instead of fingers and sponges that just leave it streaky and caked on, i love the MAC 187 brush, its expensive but u can use it for powder liquid cream bronzer blush...so on
if u still feel like its cakey MAC has a moisturizer in a bottle called Fix + it also sets the foundation and u can use it during the day to freshen up, i use it when Studio fix looks a bit powdery and cakey.

Do you use lotion/moisturizer before you put the foundation on? If so, the ingredients in your moisturizer is not working well with the foundation. If this is the case, use a light moisturizer that is oil free or water based and also, your foundation might be too thick. To avoid looking cakey, the secret is blending the moisturizer and liquid foundation together. Use water based ones too. They are better for your skin. A good one is Maybelline Pure Make Up. I used to order this water-based one online made in Europe but they discontinued orders in the United States. It was called Agnes B' Nude foundation. It was awesome. Now I stick with this Maybelline one and put on a light mineral based loose powder to set it. :) Good luck!

I used to have that comparable commencing place, and that is not something your doing incorrect - that is in basic terms the form of make up it particularly is. To make it seem much less cakey you may positioned mouisturizer on formerly you positioned the commencing place on. then you particularly could get a sponge and damp it in user-friendly terms a splash and prepare the commencing place particularly gently. The water will help it seem much less cakey, and end the sponge from soaking up each and all of the commencing place. Then i might advise using pressed powder (17 pressed powder is relatively sturdy + its low priced) just to end it off and it stops you looking particularly so orange which ive got here upon as particularly a concern with that commencing place. i think of the superb difficulty to do nevertheless is save up for a clean commencing place. Liquid works superb i think of. L'Oreal infallible make up has an anti-mask result so it does not seem cakey in any respect. It additionally blends inclusive of your skin particularly nicely, which dream matte mousse does not do. :]

First, apply moisturizer. Then, slightly wet a facial sponge, pour a little foundation on it and apply it your your face using soft stokes to even it out. Before apply any powder, make sure foundation is completely dry. Just a thin layer of powder will do...
Pls make sure that you ARE NOT using a two-way cake powder with foundation.

Wash your face first and moisturize or use a primer. Then use a good foundation ( I suggest going to a department store to buy) Even better use a tinted moisturizer instead, it's lighter and has a more natural finish. Don't use too much either, less is more!

Try applying a moisturizer first, and let it dry. Then use a FOUNDATION BRUSH instead of your fingers or sponge. The brush provides a smooth and even finish to skin. Apply a loose powder with a powder brush instead of pressed powder.

I must ask this question in order to answer yours.
Do you exfoliate your skin on a daily basis? Your skin is flaking because it is not properly being taken care of. Loitions are great for dry skin and all that but if all you are doing is putting your foundation on top of dead skin cells, well you will see it every time.
I figured this one out myself. I didn't exfoliate every day, and you have to do this every day. The top layer of your skin dies every day to be replaced by young fresh skin, if you don't get rid of it, you will have flaking. Lotions should only be applied after you have done your daily skin regimin.
Once you start on a daily basis with a good face program you will notice that you will not have the problem any longer.

I prefer liquid foundations...applied with a sponge. It goes on smooth and evenly. My all time favorite is Mary Kay Foundation. My skin always looks even and never looks caked or flakey.
