Okay, so my mother and I are having this dispute. She thinks I should go to the doctor, and I think I'm probably ok without.

1) The head injury took place Wed. I'm out of the 48 hour danger period.

2) Though I was dazed after the injury, i didn't lose conciousness.

3) I saw an urgent care doctor for the pain last night. He checked my eyes and prescribed me some medicine for the pain.

4) Yes I am still in pain, having difficulty concentrating, thinking up to my normal standards, playing my instruments up to my normal standards (reading both text adn music is suddenly more difficult and not as natural) etc. but as I understand it, that is normal after a minor head injury.

Do I really need to see another doctor?

Yes. Don't take chances, you say you are having difficulties, so just go and be sure. Why mess around and wait too long if there is pressure or bruising in your brain? You only have one.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, go on in and get a scan. Also look at what medications you've been taking if any, because a lot of meds can affect blood flow and make head injuries worse (like aspirin).

Go to a doctor, you could have had a concussion or even a hairline crack in the skull and the effect you feel can actually happen after a few days not right away.

i mean really what would be the harm in getting a second opinion....if it's really important to your mom. you don't want her losing sleep over it, right?
