I started wearing make up when I was thirteen, and the older that you get the more you relieze that people should like the real you. I hardly ever wear make up now. Anyways if you have problem skin I would go with Neutrogena because most of their product have an acne fighter in the mix. Covergirl is a great brand for most skin types, although for eye shadow my favorite would have to be Maybelline because it is soft and goes on super smooth. But I think that the top advice I have is not to worry about where other are, or what they are doing. Hope this helps.

My daughter will be 12 in June. She got into my makeup recently, before going to a dance, so I took her to the department store for a facial makeover. They took off what she had on (which looked ok, I'll say), explained what everything was for, then put some on her for the evening. They used powder instead of liquid foundation, you shouldn't use liquid until you're a little older, when your skin is more ready for it. She got blush, mascara, a little eye shadow and lip gloss. It didn't look like a lot was on, she looked very nice. I told her she could wear it to dances or out with the family, but not to school every day. When I took her to the movies with a (male) friend, she wore some that day, too.
Zits are a bummer, ya' gotta' keep the skin as clean as possible, that'll help.
Good luck!

11 years old? This can be a tough question because your mother needs to tell you if you CAN wear it. I think you're old enough to use pressed powder. It costs about 7-10 bucks for Covergirl, and a few other brands in pharmacies like duane reade, rite aid, and genovese. Don't go overboard with eyeliner, eyeshadows and mascaras UNLESS its a big party or wedding or something. Then only you should wear other things. To cover zits buy a concealer of the same brand as the pressed powder.

You are too young. Wearing make-up can actually cause more zits unless you take very good care of your skin. You might end up with allergic reaction to some of the substances in the products. For now, concentrate on caring for your skin. You'll probably look nice and healthy without glob all over your young face.

Hum...I'm 16 and I definitely wasn't into makeup when I was your age. I still don't wear that much even today. I think if your mom is okay with it and it's something you want to do, then go for it. The only thing to be careful of is to not overdo it because if you do, you'd be better off wearing none at all. You can get your mom or a friend to help you learn how to apply it correctly. I hope all goes well. Good luck!

Pimples can be curred without makeup. Some makeup even causes pimples to occur. If you are ready to start wearing makeup, I would go with something light, like a powder and hold it there. 11 is still young, I didn't start wearing makeup until high school. Try getting some Clean&Clear face wash. That should help and if you really want makeup and its ok with your folks, buy a light powder.

Don't start wearing makeup yet. You said your starting to get zits, so first you need to take care of that problem because all makeup will do is make you break out even more. So once you get your zit problem taken care of then think about wearing makeup. Try Bare Minerals, you'll thank me!

You a girl - makeup is for women and for Jean-Benet Ramsey.
Here's when you should even consider makeup:
Either your sixteenth birthday or whenever your breasts are FINISHED growing. I'm sorry to be so blunt - but you're a little girl, and I know you've heard this before, but you'll understand when you grow up a little. Girls your age shouldn't be TOO, cute, but not too pretty - it invites bad things to happen - something I hope you NEVER understand.
Now, as to the zits - here's the secret: It's not the diet, it's not washing your face, it's your diet followed by touching you face. You eat greasy fries, touch you face, and bam - you're zitted. Wash you hands, AND face, and it wouldn't hurt to eat right either.

You are too young and it will make your acne worse. Especially the cheap stuff. Enjoy being 11 for awhile. By the way, makeup won't hide the acne. You'll look worse, again, especially with the cheap stuff. There are some really good cleansers out there. Go that route first.
Lot of Love to you sweetie. Its hard growing up in a world that constantly sends the message that girls should look like women.
