can i unlock a cingular phone to work for nextel??

I know cell phones can be unlocked....its just a matter of if they are compatible. I think the first answer was right about the sims card though :(

Sorry, but that will not work. Cingular's network is GSM, while Nextel's network is iDEN. While both still use sim cards, the technologies are different and not compatible with each other. Even if they are unlocked, they will not work on each other's networks.

Depends on if it is a sim card phone and how long you have been with cingular.

Nope...they're locked for good...i think.
