can u explain me what is a electromagnetic spectrum graph, like what does it tell! plzzzz i gotta know dis!

Eletromagnetic radiation can be thought of as being like a wave--and though it also behavies like a series of particles, it's the wave-like behavior that we're dealing with here.

If you look at waves on the beach, you'l see they mere may be a long distance between the wave crests--or a short distance (wavelength) and that the shorter length waves arrive more often (frequency).

The electromagnetic spectrum is much like this. Very short wavelength radiation has a high frequency--and vice versa. These different frequencies (or wavelengths) have different effects. Some are what we perceive as visible light and the colors correspond to different colors. Ohter wavelengths/frequencies correspond to ultraviolet, infrared, X-rays, radio, and so on.

One of the key uses of this isto ggraph the light reflected from or emitted from objects. The amount of lightat particular frequencies is unique to whatever substances make up the object. For example, we know that light of only certain frequencies is associated with hydrogen. Because we know what those frequencies are--and because observations of sunlight show very strong hydrogen "lines" (as scientists refer to them) we know the Sun is mostly hydrogen. And, although the actual measuring process can be very complicated, you can do this with many different objects in many diferent situations. This use of "spectroscoppic analysis" is common in sophicated chemical analysis, for example.

And you cnan get even more information--like what temperature a star is, to name just one example.
