My guinea pig's foot is swollen...and when I strain the pus out, it just swells up again. I mean I'm not veterinarian but what do I do? Tell me if I should seek veterinarian attention or not.

Your guinea pig may have Pododermatitis, or Bumblefoot. It is a painful infection of the footpad. Please take him to a veterinarian as soon as possible. This condition, if left untreated can lead to infection of the bone, causing the leg to be removed or even death.

You should probably take it to a vet, but I'm just a country girl and we used to use tea tree oil and it usually worked real well. You can get it at health food stores (even WalMart has it) for about $5. But if it's not better soon, take the poor guinea pig to a doctor.

Is there any chance of him having something wrapped around his foot? I think you better get him to a vet, he obviously has something weird happening, you wouldn't want him to get a bad infection and die.
