I've never seen a quarterback throw the ball the way Marino did. It was cartoonish, his arm would barely move and the ball would zip fifty yards down the field. I know he never won a ring (God, it kills me) but he was really something else to watch. If rings matter, then my vote would likely be Montana. He was also fun to watch, he looked undersized but he would scramble and swing the ball down the field. Favre is another quarterback I loved watching - very similar to Montana I always thought.

Start the boos now, but Payton Manning WILL be the greatest QB in the NFL when he his career is over.

As for who has already proven themselves, I say it is between Joe Montana and Dan Marino--I think Johnny Unitas was a great QB as well though.

Good Luck....

Who is the best QB?...Hands down Tom Brady. Given the players around him it is easy to say Brady. Montana had freakin' Rice and Taylor and a decent RB and a decent TE. Add Lott to the defense. You name 2 or 3 good position players on the Pats and then maybe I say Montana. No to Marino since ZERO rings. He had about as many weapons as as Brady but still Brady won.

Terry Bradshaw. The only quarterback to win four Super Bowls in six years. Though his passing rating was dismal, he was the greatest when the game was on the line.
