Larger sizes use more fabric there fore the fat people get a better deal. And if all of the sudden fat people had to pay more for clothing they might be motivated to loose some wieght. What do you think?

What do I think? Personally, I'm sick of people finding beauty in a size 0 woman who is 5'10' and weighs 90 pounds, who looks like a skeleton. The average American woman's weight is 163 pounds, and her average height is 5' 3.8". The average American woman wears a size 14 or larger.

I think, if people would stop...just STOP...calling everybody who has meat on their bones fat, then 12 year old girls wouldn't be throwing up their lunches, and 17 year old girls wouldn't be having heart attacks from taking overdoses of diet pills.

I think, that our society has lost touch with reality. What kind of society is it that thinks it's normal to have your nose cut off your face, or your breasts pumped up with a manmade concoction, or your lips injected with chemicals, or bodily tissue sucked out with a vaccuum, or poison injected in your forehead to remove wrinkles? Or for that matter, to pour chemicals all over your head, just to make your hair Blonde, or stick a piece of plastic in your eyes just to change the color.

Apparently, it has become normal to be abnormal.

I think, God didn't make every body a size 2. He didn't make everybody the same height, or weight, or every pair of breasts the same size. He didn't intend for every one of us to be skinny blondes with blue eyes who weigh 90 pounds. We're not all supposed to look alike.

Concerning your comment on motivation to lose weight, the best motivation would be to tell a person they are beautiful just the way they are. What a person pays for clothing will more than likely NOT motivate them to lose weight.

As for what retailers charge for clothing, take a closer look, at...bathing suits for instance. The smaller it is, the more it costs.

Someday, after eating eating years of super-sized fries, and milkshakes, and pizza, you might look in the mirror and see a belly roll and some thunder thighs. Or you may be diagnosed with Sleep Apnea or Diabetes or a Thyroid deficiency that gives you no control over your weight. What will you do then? Go to the very rich doctor and have it all cut and sucked away?

By the way, the average American male weighs 190 pounds, and his height is 5' 9". Ask the average American male, and he will tell you he prefers a real woman with curves.

You asked what I think. That's what I think.

looks like you struck a nerve. They do charge more for plus size clothing. However, they also charge more for petites. I think as long as a person is healthy, does a good amount of exercise to keep their heart pumping well and to keep their body in shape, and as long as they eat what is good for them, the size doesn't matter. Some people have a tendency to be skinny and no matter what they eat they can't bulk up. Some people have a tendency to be bigger and no matter what they do, they'll never be petite. I think everyone can be beautiful as long as they are healthy and don't use their size (big or small) as an excuse to not take care of themselves.

No, the fatties feel bad enough about their size already. They already have to pay for two plane seats. If that didn't motivate them, paying extra for clothes won't. Although, I have seen some things, such as hoodies, that were more expensive for the XXL and over sizes.

i've never been able to figure out how they determine what they want to charge for clothes. a pair of pants usually costs about the same as a pair of shorts, for 1/2 the material used.

Retailers can charge whatever they want. Buyers are the ones that decide if that price should be paid.

Interesting point. I think some people are born with a problem, where its difficult to lose the weight, so I don't think it would be fair.
