Yes Stacie_l… when you ask a question it costs you 5 points and when you pick a best answer you get 3 of them back.

XOXOXOXO-- The computer doesn't pick for you the rest of us in the YA community do.

darkdrag… If you read my question you would know what I do. You can vote for a best answer 4 hours after you ask the question.

I agree with everyone who are saying that if someone took the time to answer the question the least you can do is pick a best answer!!!

Vergie-- also if you put you pointer over the pencil you can extend the expiration and after you do that if you put you pointer over the pencil again now it will show put question to vote in your options.

I usually pick a best answer. Not always though. Out of 102 questions, I have let 6 go to a vote. I still have 2 open.

I usually pick my best answers. You can never quite trust the voting population on Y/A. There are a very limited number of voters, because it takes a lot of time to read the answers and vote for only one point.

Three points are three points to be sure; but I also like to receive feedback from my answers and I believe others feel the same way. I pick a best answer more out of respect for others who are using Yahoo Answers than I do for the points.

I pick best answer because I never answer questions from users that always let questions go to the vote.

Well I do have one quesiton that I'm letting go to vote, just so I can go find it and vote no best answer. I think you get one point for that, but if there are a bunch of good answers then I pick.

I always pick an answer, partly for the points and partly because I read the answers I get...
Everyone should read the answers they get, or don't ask the question

Yeah, I tend to want the 3 points back. I'll tell you though, sometimes you just have to pick an answer that sucks the least. That's tougher than just letting it go to a vote.

I usually pick the best answer, I dont if I am gone and unable to pick the best before it goes to vote. I dont log into answers everyday like I should.

I pick the best answer. I asked, people answered, the least I can do is choose what I think is best (regardless of points).
